Wordle Explained

The purpose of my poem was to explain the emotional state in which "Steve Harmon" from the book "monster" is in. He has been konvicted for robbery in which he did not do and is now facing the judge and trying to prove himself guilty so he wont have to spend time in jail. The message in what I am trying to send is that I believe Steve is innocent and there is alot of judgement and racism in this court case. I also use words like scared, worried, and hopeless because I am describing the mood and feelings he has, Steve is scared because he doesnt want to go to jail and hopeless because he is certain he is going to. To create this purpose I used words to describe how i think he is feeling throughout the story, I also use words like monster to describe how he feels others think of him. I enjoyed using Wordle because I like how it was a different poetic method to describe a person place or thing. One way you could use Wordle is when describing a setting or a place, I also believe this could be used as a form of art to describe something.

Concrete poetry

   Ayn Rand was a Russian-American novelist, philosopher, play-write, and screenwriter. She was born and educated in Russia, but moved to America in 1926. Ayn Rand  moved to Hollywood and had a play produced on Broadway, she died march 6 1982 (aged 77). This quotation is significant because it is describing the importance of self respect and it is something one must have before they can respect another individual. This quote connects to my concept because it explains the other side of respect, that side being self respect. There are many incidents where you find someone or something lacking self respect...  

Film Adaptation

If I was hired to write the screen play for my novel "night" I believe I would not make cuts to the story. First, I would not because as a novel it is not long, and with the context in the book you could make a well length ed movie. Secondly I believe it is important not to cut scenes because I believe this story emphases`s the real and horrifying events that happened in the holocaust, and I would want the movie to be as accurate as possible. And Finally because this story is written in a point of view from someone who experienced the holocaust and the events that are included in the story are accurate and interesting to most viewers. Therefore this is why I would not make any cuts if I was hired to write the screen play for my novel.

Pathos

In my book "Night" there are many cases of pathos due to the sympathy you feel for the Jewish people during the holocaust. One scene is when the young is thinking about the amount of people killed at the two concentration camp, for no good reason. "(Wiesel 59)no one moved. I could her my heart beating. the thousands who had died daily at Auchwitz and at Birkenau in the crematory ovens no longer troubled me"( Wiesel, Elie. Night. Bantam ed. New York: Bantam Books, 1982. Print.) In conclusion this is one example of pathos in my novel.

   I felt sympathy when reading this section of the novel. I felt this way because the Young man is not troubled but the cremation of people from his Jewish community who are dying because of their religion, I think that no one should ever have to experience such a traumatising experience especially at such a young age. I do not feel empathy because i cannot say have ever understood how he was feeling in that part of the book, although i can image how horrific it would be. Therefore this is why I feel sympathy in this section of the book "Night".

Character Trait

In the book Night by Elie Wiesel the protagonist in the story is Elie Wiesel, he is a young man at the time who is experiencing the horrors of the holocaust. One Character trait the boy posses es in the book is he is a hard worker, in the beginning of the book it states "He was a man of all work at a hasidic synagogue". Elie lived in a small town but was quite poor but stayed humble, "He was very poor and lived humbly". Elie was very awkward, "Physically he was awkward as a clown". He was never intimidating, people never felt restricted when he was around, "Nobody ever felt encumbered by his presence". In conclusion, these are four physical and and non physical character traits of Elie Wiesel in the book night.
