...I decided to use the Trayvon Martin case because it links to my discussion on lack of respect for the novel section of my tapestry. In my novel section I described the lack of respect toward the young black male Steve Harmon from my book "Monster", when he first walked into the court room they made  assumption based on his age and mainly skin colour and were disrespecting him as a person. The Trayvon Martin case has two sides to it, some believe the man who killed him had shot him for self defence reasons. The side of this case i am comparing to my novel is that many believed it was done because he was a young black teen who was fatally shot and at the beginning of the conflict was most likely disrespected by the man doing the neighbourhood watch. I Believe in this situation and along with many others, people are disrespected by other people mainly because of there skin colour, race, or belief...
